When you are tuning the acoustic guitar you start at the top, the string nearest to your face. The top string is the string that will help you tune the guitar so lets get started.

You tune your guitar by moving the tuning pegs clockwise or anti-clockwise to get the right sound.

Listen to the video so you can get the top string E (Eddie) in perfect tune once you have done this we need to move on to the next string the A string.

  1. Move your finger to the 5th fret (see the picture above) and then pluck the top string (E String) and the A string (Ate) and they should sound the same if not you need to move the tunning pegs until your get the right sound, once this is done we will move onto the D string.
  2. Same again move your finger to the 5th fret but this time put it on the A string and pluck this string until it D (Dynamite) string sounds the same.
  3. Go to the 5 fret again and put your finger on the D string and pluck the B (By) string making sure they sound the same.
  4. Next we will tune the B and this is slightly diferent this time I want you to move your finger to the 4th fret and press down on the G (Good) string and tune it till it sounds the same.
  5. And last of all the bottom string the E string this is the thinest string at the bottom of the guitar. This time we will go back to the 5th fret and again pluck both strings until they sound the same. There you have it you now know how to tune an acoustic guitar
