This is a review of the best products I considered before buying Jamorama acoustic for my daughter Rebecca.
Because of the vast array of choice, I was worried about buying the wrong product, so only considered products with a free trial or solid money back guarantee.

I reviewed many other products that I have not included based on either dubious guarantee, or poor user comments around the Internet.
You probably noticed that I rated Learn & Master Guitar as excellent, but actually chose to buy Jamorama acoustic. Two reasons for this, ideally we wanted instant access to the information which Jamorama and Jamplay offered, and the guarantee with Learn & Master Guitar requires sending back the product, which is fair, but in our household we have a habit of loosing stuff, and did not want to risk, not being able to send back the complete product. It was also over $200 when I looked (they do have $100 special offers every few months).
Jamplay was not around when purchasing Jamorama, and if it had been would have been very tempted, the quality is excellent, and the content massive. You get free lessons to evaluate before buying, but as the site is a monthly membership ($19.95) the costs could mount up.
I don’t mean to sound tight fisted, but cost was a major consideration, and with personal tuition at $40 per lesson, with a minimum commitment of one term (8 weeks or about $240), Jamorama allowed me to balance my household budget, give my daughter the tuition she wanted and by my reckoning save myself $200!
Because we are lucky enough to have fast Internet access, and my daughter lives on her computer, an online option was an easy choice. If you only have access to the Internet via a dial up connection you may be better considering courses that are sent in CD / DVD and printed format such as Learn & Master Guitar.
If your after a complete beginners package check out the eMedia essential guitar pack, which includes guitar, case, pick, spare strings AND best of all the award winning eMedia guitar method 4 instructional DVD, CD-ROM pack. Really GREAT value.
